Genealogical register for the Jordaans in South Africa

Did you know that:
The origin of the Jordaans can be
   traced back to 970AD.

Originally Jourdan, derived from
Jourdain, the French name for the
river Jordan in the Palestine. After
the crusades it became a popular
first name in France and many
   surnames were derived from that.

There are already over 33 300
   Jordaan names in the genealogical
   register.

This is the ideal opportunity to
   establish a Jordaan family asso-
   ciation. Such an association will
   introduce contact between the
   Jordaans, will organize functions
   and publish a newsletter.
